St. Barnabas Corbels
Originally produced for Birmingham Design Festival's 2021 'Creative City' exhibition, this poster features 10 original linocut renditions of of the corbel heads that decorate St Barnabas Church on Erdington High Street.
Displayed for the exhibition in vibrant blue and yellow colours, this run of risograph posters is printed in gold and white on black.
Almost 200 years old, and the survivors of a fire in 2007 that gutted much of the building, the faces appear almost leprous - a timely reminder of the spaces of affliction and marginalisation in which Christianity and the Church has often located itself.
Original risograph print on black 170 gsm uncoated paper.
Open edition, embossed with the Ox of St. Luke.
Unframed, 297 x 424 mm
